It looks at you from the top of a hill. It was the Alcazar that has been turned to a librerary, unfortunately I didn"t have time to visit it but I'm sure it worth it!

Toledo is a fantastic place to visit. The alcazar sits at the top the city with a fantastic view of the surrounding area. It is a great place to end up as you wind your way up the hill through the city.

The palace is closed to the public, because workers are on strike - and have been for three months, and there is no sign that the strike is going to end soon. So you are left to see the Military museum that adjoins the Alcazar. There is very little to see, a helicopter, some swords and two cars.

We visited Toledo only to find the Alcazar closed due to strikes and other restorative works. Shame as it sits on the highest part of Toledo and the views are stunning.

Before reaching Toledo you must have a stop at Mirador and admire the beautiful buildings of Alcazar. This fortress which was once used as a Roman palace in the third century is located in the highest part outside the city of Toledo. It was a pity we could not be so near to this magnificent buildings. We could admire it... More

Toledo is only a short drive from Madrid. I would recommend visiting Toledo only if traveling my road. Its an absolute pleasure driving around. The alcazar has a wonderful architecture as well.

Some of the Alcazar is closed with the strike. But you can still ride an escalator up to the third level an get a view. Immediately impressed with the concept of impregnable

This is probably a really nice place but when we visited the workers were at strike so it was partially closed. The part which we were able to visit was awesome but the rest remain hidden. :( The lego exhibition is super awesome about the Spanish Nato participation.

We originally thought this would simply be a museum filled with armor. We were sadly mistaken. The architecture is fantastic as is the wonderful view from the outdoor courtyard. Lots of wonderful history about the city.

If you take any of the tours, they'll mention the wonderful view from high above the city of Toledo. One vantage point is in the tower in the Biblioteca. However, what they fail to mention is the view is from only three windows of the cafeteria at the top of the library. You may well be in a tower (I'm... More
