We were compulsorily paraded through this “factory”. They had a guy who banged on a piece of fiery metal as if he actually made a sword. And then to a tiny workshop where apparently 3 people were tapping away on tiny crosses that were supposedly forged by this blacksmith . In total, we saw 5 people who supposedly hand make a HUGE gift shop full of products that look like they fall apart the second you walk out the door. I’m sorry if you fall for this trap and shame on Yellow Big Bus company in Madrid for subjecting us to this travesty of an experience.

Bought a $50 pair of earrings here. They broke after just one wear through no fault of my own. And I can't contact them for a refund because their email is nowhere to be found online. Can't call because I'm back in the US now. Really frustrating. High prices and poor quality.

We traveled via bus from madrid to toledo and from there we passed by Damasquinados Suarez. The best part of the place is the method they are using in their crafts which goes back to centuries and they really provide a very good explanation about it.

Difficult to find as it is outside city centre and also there are no signage. But enter and ask for location and you will be pleasantly surprised. All beautifully made gifts and attention to detail. The women serving were most helpful and knowledgeable and the prices with the discounts were great. There was something for everyone.

We went here with our tour group having been told that we would be "visiting a traditional steel factory and gaining a cultural insight into this historical craft". Perhaps we should have received more information.
I'm thinking of seeing the famous swords handcrafted, what a fizzer!!! Only one person had arrived on the Sunday, he was a craftsman skilled in damascening, the art of inlaying different metals into one another—typically, gold or silver. Difficult to see what he was doing as he was hunched over his workstation. Three ladies present, one gave an approx. five minute talk on the craft methods, then whisked us into the shop where another manned the counter and the third had the till ready. In fairness, there were some very attractive jewellery items at a range of prices plus articles from other factories, Lladro in particular. There were some swords on sale, interesting specimens but I just wanted to move to our next destination.

I was there as part of a tour group and to honest, we didn’t really know what we were being shown. The woman who told us what was being done, the damascening, spoke English with such a thick accent, that most of use couldn’t understand her. We were then whisked into the shop to do some purchasing. The store was interesting with all the swords, knives, plates and jewelry on display. Actually there was more than what I’m even able to describe. Everything was beautiful, but pricy too. The next time I’m in the market for a good sword, (ha!) I’ll know where to go.

We had a brief view of the different steps to produce their pieces that were work with gold
The craftsman worked the pieces small or large with attention to a detailed perfection. Wished this part of the tour had taken a bit more of the time. The gift shop had moderate to pricier objects and was really a lovely display of jewelry, plates and other gifts as swords and knives. Spent a bit of money and wish to buy an pendant that I have a picture of. A worthy part of the tour that ended our wonderful day in Toledo.

I took a group of high school students and parents to Damasquinados Suarez. The kids were impressed with the demonstration of sword making and jewelry. I chose a nice sword and had it shipped, pricey for shipping but worth it to avoid TSA troubles at the airport with only carry-on bags. The hand-crafted swords, knives and jewelry are amazing. We spent $$ in the shop, however, it is a good place to visit just to see the craftsmen at work and learn how it's done

This was a part of a group tour throughout Spain. I had been to Toledo over 2 decades ago and had bought damascene earrings and a necklace. This short tour helped demonstrate how the jewelry/artwork is made and the varying levels (master, apprentice, machine-made). I appreciated that information and the prices in their gift shop seemed fair.

The overview provided and the sword making was quite good. I purchased two pendants which were on discount and they seem to be good.
