The Cathedral is a beautiful building in the centre of Santander. The courtyard is delightful and contains some historic artefacts. The interior of the Cathedral is simple but beautiful, a lovely quiet and cool spot in the city to sit and reflect for a while. The entrance fee is 1 euro per person, and is certainly worth it!

there is not really a lot to see in santander in general, the cathedral is not any exception. You get a handful of altars, a crypt which doesn't seem to be old and a cloister, but that's it. Santander would be rather the place to go for food (which almost always includes meat, so not for vegetarians) or the beach

At least in comparison with some great Spanish cathedrals of Burgos, Toledo or Leon. Consists of 2 parts. The lower and older church, now the crypt, called Church of the Christ is more atmosperic. Main Gothic church was built in 13th century being renovated and extended throughout later centuries. Heavily damaged by a fire in 1941, it was reconstructed and... More

Close to the harbor in the center of center is this monument. Once inside it is surprisingly humble and smaller than expected. But watch all crafted details and the glass windows on the floor showing old remainings

Inside smells musty, the glass panel floor is fogged up is in the cloister area. Some serious attention is needed here to improve venterlation simce the inside is small hence not allowing for poor circulation of fresh air.
