Beautiful square at the centre of Santa Cruz

Gorgeous spot to sit and have coffee when the sun's out. Try the kiosk with the plants on the roof. Check out the buns on the statues too.

We visited Tenerife during the Mardi Gras carnival & headed to this square as we were looking forward to seeing the lake. We were a bit disappointed to see that the lake had been drained, for the duration of the carnival. Nevertheless this is still a fantastic square, with bars & restaurants, a great place for people watching.

Plaza de Espana is a beautiful and popular square close to the Santa Cruz Port. Parking is available underground if you want to spend the day in Santa Cruz. Beautiful wading pool with people enjoying the sun and soaking their feet. Lots of tours meet up at this Plaza. The hop on/hop off double deckers start their tour here also.

A nice pool in the middle of a square. It's a nice walk from the center of the city, nothing special but worth a look.

Nice square with view to the ocean. In the center there is big fountain and you can go There. Fine in hot day.

Under the curve of an impressive modern structure here, there is a good cocktail bar. Beware the very generous portions of alcohol in the cocktails , but enjoy. We staggered back to the town having sat here and surveyed the enormous paddling pool by the coast, the hallmark of this plaza.

Been to many such public spaces in Spain where people hang out and can be vibrant and fun - this is the opposite, a puddle near the sea with grotty port facilities and nothing to inspire. A shame because the city overall is fine, but this is a let down.

Remodelled square linking shopping city centre to the sea. Fountain, small café and memorials - worth a brief visit and move on. Lots of bus / taxi options. Many tourists having a look.
