Tranquil Tropical Oasis
May 2021 • Couples
Tranquil botanical oasis located in the attractive La Paz district of Puerto de la Cruz, founded long time ago by King Charles III of Spain, who clearly had a passion for horticulture. Impressive collection of tropical plants from different parts of the world and a place to relax and escape from the hassle and bustle of the town. Just wish there were descriptions and information about the plants in English.

Ahead of its time.

This is a beautiful place to spend an hour. The plants are wonderful and there are photo opportunities galore. Ahead of its time because it was used by the Spanish as a place to see what happened to south American plants before they were taken to mainland Spain. Not expensive to get in and wheelchair friendly.

Be aware of opening hours and possible renovations
Feb 2021 • Couples
Open now?! Not really. We were left very dissapointed. Without english website with official opening hours you are left to follow instagram account, which, again, is not accurate. We were here last week in february 2021 when renovations (happening first two weeks in feb 2021) were supposed to be finished and surprise, surprise, they were not. Info about opening hours on Tripadvisor didn't help either, since they are not up to date. We were really looking forward to visit the botanical garden. It is only fair to say we were extremely dissapointed but more due to lack of information on multiple websites than an hour long ride to the other side of an island.

Very impressive.

To be honest I really wasn’t bothered about visiting these gardens so my expectations were not particularly high, but what a surprise, I really enjoyed my visit. Far larger area than I thought with so many different varieties of trees, bushes and plants from all the corners of the world with some planted as long ago as the eighteenth century. I was well impressed.

Really nice botanical garden with lots of signs. It cost 3€ to get in and the garden is not that big.

Historic Botanical Garden
Sep 2020
This historic garden showcases botanical specimens in an historic garden a little out of the centre of Puerto de La Cruz. The garden are well maintained and we got some good views of the Teide.

A pleasant hour
Aug 2020
The flora and fauna on Tenerife is varied and beautiful. The gardens of our villa were beautiful which meant that the Botanical Gardens were enjoyable but only had a few things we had not already seen. Walking around takes around an hour. A couple of amazing trees and rooting structures and pretty ponds. Good rather than amazing but inexpensive so fine on the value front.
