A fascinating trip from sea level in Puerto de la Cruz to well over two thousand metres above sea level below the last 1 300 metres of this mighty cone-shaped volcano. On the scenic drive up and down Canarian fir trees with very long needles were interesting to see for Norwegians.

We decided to book the half day trip. 11.55-18.00. After several pickups we set off on the long clime up to El Teide. The travel guide kept us informed about various points of interest and changes in agriculture as we ascended. There was a stop at Vilaflora the highest village in Teneriffe,,shrouded incloud, for refreshments. After a further climb we were back... More

We done a trip Teide by Night, We got picked up about 3 pm then travelled to the mountain We stopped a couple of times to take photos, was given glasses of procesco and then to a restaurant for a lovely three course meal. Teide: Just witnessed a place where the temperature drops from 15 degree to 1 degree within 10 mins, a highest point in Spain 3718m, in the Center of the peak & in the Crater of the Old Volcano. You feel like you are in another planet, formations of solid lava, multicoloured mountains of minerals I would call this as 'no... More

Too bad for us, that tickets (permits) for the summit are sold out in weeks advance. We went here in January 2017 and wanted to walk down, of course we were prepared for a walk from 3555 m. We tried to buy tickets to the summit but they were sold out 2 months before our arrival, so be prepared.Unfortunately the... More

Very hot but beautiful views, buy your tickets as an all in one package including getting there and lift up to top otherwise can work out expensive. Nothing to see if you do not go up to the top of the volcano. The coach trip was good as we went all round to pick up and on the way back.... More

Fantastic views and amazing geology. Takes around 40 minutes by car to reach the cable car and a coat is advisable when you reach the summit.. The volcano has been growling lately but no signs of anything untoward when we visited. The closest thing to a lunar landscape I have seen. Well worth a half day trip.

Visited here recently and found it colder than we anticipated. We advise that you take a coat. The cafe was slightly overpriced which is expected for a tourist attraction. Unfortunately we missed out on the cable cars as we stopped for hot drinks.

This volcano and area is stunning. There are lots of walks and you can see Las Palmas and Gran Canaria. You have an out of this world experience and we also recommend the guided visit of the Teide observatory at the top which you must book in advance.
