We stopped off to have a little look at this castle on our day trip to Arrecife, I enjoyed having a look around the outside of the building, it would have been nice to go inside it and have a look out to sea from...More

We tried to visit but on both occasions it was closed (and went back after siesta) no signs for opening hours - no signs full stop. Not very tourist friendly and a shame as it's a missed opportunity for Arrecife.

We got in free when we visited because the computers were down. I was glad. Yes, maybe I should learn Spanish, but I would expect an attraction in such a tourist location to have some information in other languages. at least French, English and German....More

The guides are very knowledgeable and fluent in at least 4 languages. There is information on the history of Arrecife, pirates, armaments and even a Mummy to look at. The Terrace gives a great view of the coastline, port and beaches. An hour well spent!

Nothing really special, small fort with museum of history inside. Free entry. The only attraction was to go on the roof of it to see the city.

Beautiful location - off rocky reefs accessed by bridges over open water. A great place to stretch your legs; feel the wind; and explore some history. All the info boards in Spanish but visual explanations very clear. Great views back to the old town.

You can easily walk out to the castle from the shore on either of two pathways. Castle seems in good condition and hosts a local history museum (€3 in)- but it's also a great point to look back at the city and along the coast.

Decided to visit Arrecife during our holiday to Costa Teguise for a change of scenery, with the plan to visit the castle, followed by the beach. The walk along the bridge to visit the castle is very nice, lots of rock pools and surrounded by...More

A short walk over a bridge and you are at the Castillo, interesting views and good shots of Arrecife if you are a photographer.

We didn’t actually go in the castle as there didn’t seem much point if it’s all in Spanish as the other reviews suggest you can see all around the castle from outside. The castle isn’t exactly high so I can’t see the views being much...More
