If you like hikes through untouched landscapes with dramatic views you will like this. If you are lucky you will spot wild goats. Crows are more common, and they are used to people, so hold you food tight.

Car park in the edge of the caldera in spectacular location, stating point for well marked out walks, 2 hours to 6 hours.. To visit you can reserve - for free - a space in the small 18 space car park on the Spanish National Parks service website, or through the visitor centre on the main road east of El... More

The visitors centre is on the main road and you must stop and look at the exhibition inside, if you are going to the top then these are the last loos. If you want to go into the park and view the caldera or do some walks then you can do either of the following. Book a parking space at... More

It's great. Great views. Great run. Take food and drink. I was running and sprained my ankle. If you are running, keep your eye on the floor and stop every time you want to see the view. This is where I went wrong.

Get there early as you'll have the best of the weather. Book your parking on line (free) and head on up the well surfaced road. Park at the top and you'll have several choices of walks. The two mile one hour walk is pretty straightforward, my 77 year old father in law coped easily. It's well marked out and gives... More

You have to be lucky and hope for a clear day, then the views are amazing! But even with the clouds, it is an awesome place!

We took the north side of the Caldera, namely walking trail from Mirador de los Andenes (where we parked the car) to Roque de los Muchachos. The trail is easy view great views. The caldera is really astonishing and it is definitely must see on La Palma

Visited as part of a walking tour, fairly good paths but most people would benefit from using poles. Dramatic views in all directions. No facilities in the telescope area. Warm kit needed as icy winds when we were there. Disappointed not to find much information available - perhaps I missed it.

We drove through this park to reach Roques de Los Muchachos. We stopped at several of the miradors for photos before driving on. However, you can't fully appreciate the park if you don't get out and hike inside it, where the roads don't go. There are places where you need a parking pass (like La Cumbrecita area) but there are... More

This national park is absolutely stunning and gives opportunities for walks at all levels. For short fairly easy walks you need to get up to La Cumbrecita. It is worth spending some time at the Visitor Centre first and ask for a map leaflet. Others had them and we didn't see them so clearly you have to ask. The road... More
