On the road to the Pico de Bandama viewpoint (great 360 degree views of Las Palmas, the Caldera, the central mountains and the sea), you can park along the road and hike around the caldera in 60-80 minutes. Well marked gravel path with some steep...More

Visited the crater and observation point during a private tour. Beautiful scenery with a 360 degree view just a short drive from Las Palmas.

Good place to visit, path accessible for average mobility. Start from the bus stop there is a viewing point which explains how the crater was formed ( Spanish, German and English ). There are caves but the path carries some level of risk as it...More

Good view from the peak, easy tor reach by car. Walking around the caldera rim takes about 45 minutes, with a nice trail.

If you go with Trip Gran Canaria, you'll see a short film in a cave above the caldera which you'd never spot if you went independently. The trip combines the caldera with a walk around the Botanical Garden - thoroughly recommended.

An ever upward climb with hairpin bends, quite interesting in a coach, but the view was so amazing. So glad I took my camera. We got there just before the downpour. Fantastic.

Where was the starting point for you 2 hour walk? Were you on a cruise? Is the walk up hill or flat?

I went by Bus. Its up to you. There are 2 routes. One descends into the crater. The other goes around the rim. There is only one way down, which you might find easy.. However.. You have to return the same way, so if you... More
