Nice drive to the peak for 360 degree views avoid the overpriced cafe Caldera, misnamed as the caldera is round the other side of the hill.

Even if you don't go for a walk, we didn't have time, it is worth going up to the viewpoint for views over the crater and over the island. Pick a clear day to take advantage of the fine views.

Well made paths make the walk fairly safe, just a few rather slippy gravel bits on the steeper slopes. Being semi-desert here, there is no grass, just bare rock and loose stones/gravel. The views down into the crater and the path down into it are...More

We took a taxi ride from the port to this magnificent view point on the island. There were views over the crater and over the island as far as the sea on many sides. Wonderful for photographs. Plant life is excellent and you can walk...More

The place is open every day till 17:00. The parking facility is very limited, so you might need park in the street, it’s free if charge though. The place is lika a park or botanic garden, where you can walk down the volcanic crater. It...More

We intended to walk around the rim but as it was getting later in the day than we intended I no longer wanted to! I thought it looked a bit too precarious for me. Instead we looked from the top and took pictures.

The view from the top is the main appeal--the crater itself has been extinct for a long time and is a wooded hole.

We drove from Mogan, took about 1 hour. Main roads until nearer the mountain but not a bad drive at all. Parking is tricky but you will find somewhere on the road if you have to. Walking down the crater was fun, bit slippery at...More

During a two-week holiday in Gran Canaria, my wife and I decided to hike around the rim of the Caldera Bandama. This is the largest remaining volcanic crater in Gran Canaria. The rim reaches 569 m (1,867 ft) above sea level at the highest point...More

Hi. I got off at the stop by the restaurant. When you see the brown sign for the Caldera you’re there - I missed my stop as I was looking to see the Caldera and it isn’t immmediately visible until you get off the bus!
