- Gordon BLondon, United Kingdom4 contributionsTapas to Die ForVery popular from 3pm onwards. For good reason: it has scrumptious cold tapas - on display, so you know what you're choosing. The same 3 bars do breakfast too, plus 2 greengrocers. A lot of stalls are not open, but that leaves more space for customers from the open ones to spread out. V. noisy.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 December 2022

Had late lunch here after spending the morning and early afternoon at Playa de Las Canteras. We drove round to the underground parking, but realised you could actually get to it from the beach over the bridge.
Anyway, the food… our daughters had lasagne from the Italian stand, I had octopus, my wife had chicken stew from the restaurant next to the Italian. In fact, Michaela the owner of the Italian restaurant recommended the restaurant next door as we wanted something traditional/ authentic from the Canary Islands. We had a couple of glasses of white wine from the Italian restaurant too. Both restaurants were a good price, definitely recommend both places for food and drink!

Markets don't get better than this!
Amazing displays of fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, nuts etc.
We had a couple of cups of coffee at a lovely little stall, Cafe Ortega, accompanied by some heavenly salted almonds (coffee 1.20 euros each).
As it was our last day we decided to buy food to eat on the aeroplane at one of the market stalls. A delightful young girl served us 200g of jamon serrano, 200g of a lovely Spanish cheese, all beautifully sliced, boxed and cling-filmed - 7.50 euros.
This is a must visit!

What a brilliant find, fresh produce with lots of little eateries working as a cooperative, great drinks too. We went most lunchtimes for pinchos & cava & attended a music evening with a DJ which was excellent

This market is actually a Port market and food market. Here you can find local products. We went there as a group for lunch. It is the perfect place to try local dishes. It is not too touristy and mainly locals come here, That is why I love it more. As a group, we choose different dishes and shared them. This is the best way to try as many dishes as you can

we were really disappointed at our visit here. first, most stalls were closed. second, it is a bit of a market, a bit of a food center, but most of all a tourist driven thing. yes, there are tapas bars and yes, there are some fruit, meat of fish stalls, but far from a lively market as we know it from other places. a nice place, but not what we expected.

Go in the morning for the market but go back in the afternoon early evening for the Tapas. Some fantastic choices and great wines available.
