It's the city hall with some official government functions. But it is more as it is a large building on a big square where celebrations are held. And it once was a mansion, so lots of importance here. We did step inside to look at the grand reception area and noted a lot of signs directing people to the city goverment offices.

The Palma Town Hall is located right in the center of the old town, on a small square.
Beautiful Neo Gothic edifice dates back to 17c, and also served as a prison for some time.
Specially nice is its side facade with a beautiful carved wood overhang over its roof.

It is an interesting building in the centre of Palma. As it is still in use, a touristic visit is not really possible. You can admire it from outside and during working hours, you can also go inside, as it is a public building.

Palma is a wonderful city in which to walk. And enter the old town ...no cars allowed. Again, the architecture, so old, you are in another world.

Stone benches sculpted in the facade of the Town Hall provide a free place to sit down and admire the elegant square. If you feel lost information is given inside by helpful officers in English. Among the many tourist shops in the area traditional Gordiola selling hand blown glass in an array of colours stands out.

What a magnificent building for a Town Hall and make sure you look up at the wooden overhang and its detail.

This is a stunning piece of architecture and the wooden overhang on the building is a one off. Really amazing!
