Just a short ride with "feniculare" and you're at the top of the hill with one of the most amazing city views I've ever seen.

Igueldo overlooks the city of San Sebastian on the west side. One attraction is to ride the funicular up to the top. To get there you simply walk to the end of the beach boardwalk, and signs will lead you to the funicular. We had intended to ride this up, however it was closed the Tuesday we went. Instead we... Higher than Monte Urgull, Monte Igueldo offers a wonderful scenic view on all San Sebastian city and beaches. It really deserves to drive up to there !

Might be good when you have little kids going up there with the "funicular" , take the bus N° 16 till the stop Funicular from the centre . The view is beautiful !

I'm not normally a big fan of overrun photo spots but this one you don't want to miss. It's a bit of a hassle to get to but you'll be rewarded with one of the most scenic views of the Basque coast, featuring Donostia's old town, famous La Concha beach and the bay.

We went up twice. Once, by foot, which was utterly exhausting but we felt worthy because of the demanding exercise. When we reached just underneath the hotel we found all the gates locked - it was Christmas Day. So we had to trudge all the way back again - much easier, The next time was a realty sunny day and... We went up on a rainy November evening. The old funicular ride up is fun. Up on top there is an old-style amusement park (closed at time of year). There is also a hotel with some coffee and food item. A great place to relax and wait for the sunset and view of La Concha Beach.

I used the funicular to get to the top and that was fun in itself - only about a two minute ride but steep and snappy in an old world style. At the top the views were fantastic both of the beach way below and the city in the distance looking very stylish. The old fun park has seen better... More

We went up the funicular (once we'd found somewhere to park) which was great fun. The fairground at the top was an absolute hoot - so bad its great. The roller-coaster is an experience and the chamber of horrors, I couldn't stop laughing! Loved it. If you're within 100 miles, don't miss this.
