Great place to visit for shopping and local tapas( however they call this something else and is a little bit different but delicious). Beautiful old buildings as you wander through the small streets. Totally relaxing

The Old town is a lovely area to wander around and relax, there are no cars to dodge as it`s pedestrianised. The cobbled streets are full of independent businesses that cater to the tourists and locals alike, crammed with historic buildings that will fascinate.
The old part of down is filled with cobblestones, ancient churches, bars and Restsurant. A two story market shaped like a boat. An client library and lots, lots more. The highlight of one of our days here in Bilbao
We spent lots of time walking the maze of narrow streets eating and drinking at will when we saw something/where we fancied. Market by the river is worth s visit, small compared to bigger Spanish city markets but a good range of produce and bars/cafes
Spend half a day here ideally sometime before sunset and then later. The houses and streets are lovely in the day time and night but most people only come after sunset.
Many bars and shops, Lovely church in centre. Bit touristy but not as much as other cities. Felt safe and was clean
