The old charm and history are wonderful. Stick with the Pintxo bars serving locals...don't fall for the fancy ones because it's all show and no flavor.

Bilbao’s old town is full of classical Basque character. It has a very distinct feel compared to the rest of other Spanish old towns, almost like a loosely-guarded secret that’s always been there.

The casco viejo is a must in this lovely city of the Basque country so easy to walk around and great architecture and also the water front around it , is great to spend a good wander around.

Sorry I cannot be of any help. I was looking at the sights and enjoying the food, so didn't notice any hair salons of which I am sure there are many. Good luck.

Likely to be cold and wet. Low around 6-8 deg C but that's warmer than UK.

Most probably rainy, cool weather but not freezing. Could be foggy as well.
