The Casco Viejo has many little shops in its narrow streets and it is interesting to walk there because many small shops will surprise you with their goods.

This is the 2nd time I've visited Bilbao for the festival and this year staying in the old town in an airbnb flat we have had the best time ever. The old town is buzzing throughout the day and night and there are bars in...More

Unfortunately we visited San Sebastian old town before Bilbao, so Bilbao definitely looked like the grubby little brother to us - streets are a bit less well kept, and the bars less interesting. Atmosphere is also lacking. It is interesting to wander around, but not...More

This part of the city is delightful. Lots of little streets to get lost in full of bars, restaurants and quaint little shops. Well worth a visit!

Spent a wonderful evening here on the Pintxos trail - wandering around the bars eating pintxos and drinking Txacoli. Children were playing in the plaza, locals outnumbered the tourists and the atmosphere was fantastic.

We stayed here for 3 days and really liked Casco Viejo and it rained the whole time we were there and its didn't bother us at all. I will definitely go back.

Absolutely amazing part of town. Full of small streets that are fairly quiet which makes a nice change to bustling cities. Find some back streets for interesting small shops and Basque cafés

Not as extended and colourful as other cities' "old town" areas, still, one of the few things that a Bilbao visitor has to see.

Compared to other "old towns" in Spain, the old part of Bilbao is "Nice". I will not say it is bad, but it also is not "wow". Bilbao's big claim to fame is all the modern stuff.

Walking the Casco Viejo is so beautiful, you have this old, beautiful buildings, bars, places to eat, gardens, churches, shops , every thing a tourist needs. It is breathtaking to walk and admired it all.

Likely to be cold and wet. Low around 6-8 deg C but that's warmer than UK.

Most probably rainy, cool weather but not freezing. Could be foggy as well.
