Had a fabulous meal at the Meson De La Dolores, after a day out at the Monasterio de Piedra Park. The service and food were very good.

If you hold any interest in the Arab influence on the Iberian peninsula, this is definitely a place to stop by. Several buildings are being renovated but it doesn't take away the pleasure of wandering around and discover the remains of Prince Ayub's land plot ("kalaat").

We stopped by expecting an interesting city with wine to offer as Calatayud produces a lot of wine of the region. It turns out that it is quite run down and lost some of its former glory. Still for an atmosphere of what vintage slightly shabby Spanish town would look like feel free to drop by its casco antiguo.

One of my favorite places in Spain, under the shade of many trees, is taking a stroll on the promenade, or Paseo, and then just sitting back and enjoying the Paseo, waiters wait on you while sitting in the shade with your spouse, family or friends.
