We´ve been for one day and also stayed in the area to enjoy the weekend. Any time of year is gorgeous. Depending on how you feel there are lots of routes to choose from.

I took a train from Madrid to Zaragoza,stayed there and then took a day bus tour on Aragon Bus tours directly to the Monasterio from Zaragoza's train/bus station. It was a very enjoyable day excursion.
