The castle itself is very well preserved, with the three historic eras clearly defined. It has incredible views and a wonderful story. Definitely worth a visit. Our guide Gabriel was unbelievably helpful and fun, he made the tour! Was very cold so wrap up warm!

Since the castle has not been restored, it is a delight for the imagination. You can peer through the holes/windows and imagine an archer defending his position.

We think best seen early just after the sun rises for good pictures then later to walk around this castle. Castle was used in the film Kingdom of Heaven, brilliant film. Loarre is a castle for exploring - it’s semi-ruined state still allows you to climb the towers, walk over it’s arched bridges and investigate the dungeons. It’s easy to... More

The visit was excellent with an English audio guide. The castle is ruins so it's not like you'll see any beautiful ornate rooms with furnishings. It dates back to the year 1020 so it's very old! Parking by is free. Price with audio was 6.5E. Beautiful view of surroundings!

Really simple, soulful and unique castle. It was total worth the visit and efforts taken to reach here. Totally recommend visiting, solowith friends or family, easy to access with rental vehicle from huesca with large car park and decent castle store and small cafe glancing at castle.

This is a well presented castle rich in history that played a key part in the history of Spain. We took the audio devices and I recommend them as they are not expensive and reasonably entertaining. The castle looks great from the outside and does not disappoint when you enter; there are many rooms and nooks and crannies to explore!... More

On arrival we were delighted to see this beautiful castle. There is a road that winds up to it with a large car park. we went on a Sunday only to find that it is an extremely popular place with the local people who come to the visitor centre with their children for a day out. as a result it... The views over the Aragon plains are simply wonderful from this interesting and historic 10th C castle. The castle itself is a great place to explore and if you've seen the film "Kingdom of Heaven" you may recognise some of the vistas. It's largely unrestored but everything is massive and truly impressive. The walk from the village of Loarre is... More

There are a several places, which should be conquest by the history fans. The Loarre Castle is one of them. This is a magnificent the Romanesque Castle in very good conditions. For me this architecture is the symbol of the small and not very spectacular buildings (based on Central European experience). The Loarre castle is the best way how to... More

A nice little castle up the hill. Well preserved. Kids had fun to run through the different rooms. Recommended if you are in the area. Due to all the high recommendations I drove two hours from Ordesa - its not worth the ride..
