Beyond the Iberian peninsula most people are rather uncomfortable about bullfighting, which makes a visit to this venerable bullring with attached museums all the more fascinating – not least for those who would never consider attending a bullfight. An inspection of the ring, and the backstage facilities that sustain it (the Plaza, of necessity, has its own ER) is a good counterpoint to a browse around a museum which is full of artwork and costumes celebrating the skill of the matador together with the mounted heads of their animal nemeses. Go with an open mind and you’ll leave with a much better understanding of bullfighting’s place in the life and culture of Andalucía.

This really brought to life the excitement of bull fighting and what it must be like. You have to go round in a group with a tour guide but the lady who took us was so knowledgable that we would have missed out on a lot of information on our own. The best bit was going into the actual bullring... More

Free on a Monday!! We went for free and upon exiting, both agreed that we wouldn't have paid the fee to see it. The tour lasts about 30 minutes. Felt rushed through the museum, so little time to digest what was in it / take pictures. Last 10 minutes or so was in the bullring.

not a particularly interesting tour--you have to go in a group, which winds you through a marginally interesting museaum, and ends up inside the ring. while that part was great, you could save yourself an hour by just looking at the photo

No Bull fights on our visit we don't agree with animal cruelty but if you want to experience the Spanish tradition this is a great place to visit, lots of history about Bull fights great museum. Great to visit takes around 1 to 2 hrs with guide. Reasonable price. Highly recommended Steve Uk

We visited on a Monday afternoon. Entry is free from 3-5pm. You have to arrive early to line up for a ticket. They don't start issuing them until 3. We arrived around 2:40 and there was already a good size line. We got tickets for the 4:10 tour. I think closer to high season you would have to get there... More

We had an excellent guide, who explained in detail and with great enthusiasm, all about the history and traditions of the bull ring. The building itself is very beautiful and gives a real feel of the artistry and excitiement that locals must experience. It appears to be newly refurbished, some work is still ongoing. The stables and chapel are able... More

We were lucky to find tickets for "corrida". For a higher price you can find tickets in front of the arena, but normally for the next day, only. It is an unique experience, at least once in your life, because they still keep the tradition and every "corrida" is a celebration.

This is the oldest bull ring in Spain and the tour is well worth taking with the guides. We found the museum Fascinating with costumes and artefacts from the past. Then walk through the archway by the chapel and Torredors living quarters leads in to the cathedral part of the city.

We enjoyed the visit, but the group felt large, and a little rushed through the exhibition rooms. Entering the arena was an exciting moment, imagining the crowds and pageantry in the bull-fighting season.
