Hidden away in the backstreets this really is worth a visit. Set round a cool, peaceful patio the building is quite small and unremarkable. Then you enter the church which is amazingly ornate and takes your breath away. Beautifully hand painted ceilings and walls and gold embellishment everywhere. There was an exhibition of paintings by Velasquez and Murillo in one... More

Be sure to go and see their art on show and the church. The audio guides are included in the entrance price and are very informative on the art displayed. An oasis of calm.

There is a very special exhibition on from November 8 to February 28 featuring Velaquez (1599-1660) and Murillo (1617-1682) who were artists from Seville. The admission is 8 Euros, which is steep for the size of the museum, but I believe it is higher for this particular show. There are only 19 paintings, but some are from the National Gallery... More

A bit expensive for what you get to see. A temporary painting exhibition (Velazquez and Murillo) nice. Hospital and church ok.

We went to see the special exhibition of Velazquez and Murillo. Many of the paintings were from museums worldwide. I specially liked the paintings of Murillo, which were St. Anne Teaching the Virgin to Read, and The Holy Family with a Little Bird. The chapel is very beautiful and I took many photos there.

A very recommended visit, the surroundings of the building as well as the one in itself and of course taking advantage of the exhibition of Murillo and Velazquez. Do not stop seeing the Church.

The chapel is quite a surprise, and well worth visiting while in Seville. Other than that, there's not a lot to see so it doesn't require more than about 30 minutes. It is between the cathedral area and the river/tower, so is a good stop on the way.

Entry was Euro5-50 which included an audio guide - probably on the expensive side, notwithstanding the quality on offer. The Hospital, which was formerly a hospice for retired priests, really has 3 elements of interest. The first you reach straight after the ticket office which is the small, but impressive, courtyard. The next is the small church with spectacularly painted... More

A really pleasant surprise. On a very busy hot day this was cool and quiet. Very few visitors in what was effectively and old priests retirement home! Classically decorated chapel and amazing ascension painting that is worth laying on the floor in the sacristy to get a memorable photo. Gallery of religious art by famous artists worth a look. A... Lovely church but the rest of the buildings and grounds are not that interesting. Had a free ticket; would not have gone otherwise.
