The Macarena basilica is the example of the devout nature of Sevillians. Semana Santa must be incredible to witness. Bucketlist material if you fancy this.

The image of the Virgin Mary in this church is one of the favorite images for the Sevillanos and they like to pray in this church to this Virgin Mary because she is supposed to hear prayers and cause miracles. The church is not the most beautiful, but it is interesting.

We walked in just being curious but where amazed by the overwelming beauty. Really worth a visit if you are nearby, wouldnt cross town for it if you arent religious.

The exterior of the church is much like others in Spain; in fact it is partially surrounded by other buildings (such as a 'religious treasure shop :( ), rather than freestanding. However, inside, it is jaw-droppingly lovely.

I was staying very close to this church and managed to visit it empty and in a moment of prayers. Very beautiful inside and witnessing the thrill of the faithful was a very beautiful experience

Have a look at the building and walk around the area, where you will see some old relics and a city wall.

Absolutely beautiful. This church is magical - as a Catholic it is a must in Seville. As a place to visit it is stunning and interesting. I thought better in some ways than the cathedral.

The only place where I experienced such material praise to the MAMA MARY. Given a chance to go to Spain again, I feel obligated to visit her again.
