We spent two entire days visiting the park with Discovering Donana. The guides (especially Javi) really knew the birds, spoke good English and showed us all of the flora, fauna, history and geology of this park....we were interested in everything. The primary purpose of the trip was bird watching. We were a private group of five. Although we were a... More

We aren't avid twitchers but thoroughly enjoyed our day out here. We simply went to the main centre at Acebuche and spent time in the hides seeing birds we had never seen before! The downside was that the lady at the reception couldn't speak any English and so she couldn't help us identify birds we couldn't find on the posters.... More

We took a tour with Donanya Visitas from El Acebuche. The tour was about 4 hours and took us around the whole park. We saw the beach, sand dunes, marshland, woodland and lagoons. The park is amazing. There are so many types of birds, many migrating between Africa and Europe. Our guide was clearly passionate about birds and as soon... More

We made a tour with a Unimog that drove us through the park. To get there we first needed to cross the Guadalquivir with a very rustic ferry. It was very impressive to first see the endless beach and then dive into the different biotopes of the park. The drive is completely off-road and you need to get used to... More

Firstly, had we been able to have an English speaking guide, I would have given 5 stars. But without that and if we hadn't been reasonably familiar with bird species I can't give five stars. The only way to see the park and a place of beauty. Myriad birds - some first for us - purple gallinule and Spanish imper... More

Donana Park is an area of natural beauty. Lakes with flamingoes and spoonbills. Go to the information centre nr el rocio and see the bird hides. Black ibis, herons, storks and marsh harriers. The woodland goes on for miles. We are camped in the middle in yellow village. Fantastic for wildlife.

We booked the tour from the centre and had Jorge as our guide. He was great hugely informative and kept the group interested throughout the whole four hours of the trip. Got to see all the animals and birds we expected to see - wild boar, horses, various type of dear, cows, Spanish Imperial Eagle. Well worth doing and enjoyed... More

We actually had a great time. Beautiful and saw a lot of wildlife but it hadn't rained so the most of the marshes were dried out, still waiting for the fall rain. It is probably better to go in winter or spring when the marshes are full. It's a beautiful area and worth a visit.

Without a doubt the most diverse place to watch birds. We stayed in El Rocio which in itself is an experience. Everything was planned and we hired a guide Jose Sanchez from Discovering Doñana as you are unable to navigate the park without an authorised guide. It's the best place to see Iberian Lynx. There are many areas around the... More

Established as a national reserve in 1969 this reserve features a great variety of ecosystems and shelters wildlife including thousands of European and African birds , fallow deer, Spanish red deer and wild boar. It was named after doña ana de silva y Mendoza.wife of the seventh duke of medina sidonia. A typical trip takes in dunes and marshlands on... More
