About
The flamenco tablao "Reina Mora" was born in 1971, it was inaugurated by "El Parranda" with artists of the time such as "Fosforito" and "Juanito Valderrama". In 2001 it takes its current name, "Tablao Flamenco Albayzin", reopened with the dancer "Juan de Juan", being since then the springboard of the young artists from Granada: Fuensanta "La Moneta", Patricia Guerrero, David Carmona, Alfredo Tejada, Ismael "El Bola"... This emblematic tablao is located in the famous viewpoint of San Cristobal, crowning the Albayzin neighborhood, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Every night we count, from 21.15, with 8 artists that will make us enjoy an incredible show of 75 minutes, with special invitations like: Pol Vaquero, Paloma Fantova, "El Carpeta", Moisés Navarro, Juan José Villar , "Rapico", Román Vicenti, Camarón de Pitita, Francisco Vinuesa, Manuel de la Curra, May Fernández ...

Unprofessional outfit I’m sad to say! We purchased tickets online a few weeks before wanting to attend the show. The venue is high in the city so takes a lot of hill walking to reach it on cobbled streets. We arrived with an hour to spare hoping to grab a drink nearby to cool off after our trek in 36* heat. I checked my email whilst waiting to find I had been sent a very amateur email with an hour and a half’s notice to say that nights show had been cancelled!! They said they would love tickets to an evening later in the week - not any use when only in the city for 2 nights. Poor, amateur communications, if you want to guarantee to see a Flamenco show book with a different company to ensure you get to experience it without cancellation. Thankfully my teen wasn’t distraught to not attend but younger children maybe, especially after the hike to reach the venue.

Overall, disappointing and unpleasant experience.

To begin with, we bought x2 tickets for the flamenco show + drinks with Groupon, for a total price of 29.90 €. We reserved the spots via phone and email directly with the owner of the structure.
We arrived 40min before the show, so to ensure to have dinner and to find a nice frontal spot.
As we arrived, the owner informed us to have cancelled Groupon this morning (why? And why didn't inform us before, having our phone and email?). He thus expected us to get tickets from him, for a total of 36 € and not drink. Eventually he did agree to include 2 drinks.
We were the first costumers, so we got the best spots in the front.
Sadly, they told us to move as a big group was arriving and would sit there (unfair!).
We waited, waited, and waited to be able to order the drinks and the food. They ignored us for a while, and then asked us to wait so to serve the just-arrived big group first (unfair, again!).
Despite in the website we had read about the tapas menu, they only had available ham and cheese. We had hoped to get some warm food, but out of options and very hungry we thus ordered that, specifically asking for bread (at least two to three times). Eventually the food arrived (the show had already started for quite a while). No bread was served, only a small plastic package with a few crackers (sort of crackers). We repeatedly asked for bread once again, but got told to wait, and eventually remained ignored for a long while. At this point we started getting annoyed of this bad, unfair service (its our last day in Granada, and we were looking forward to create a nice, enjoyable last memory). Hopeless and frustrated, we returned the untouched ham, explaining we cant eat all of that ham without a bread support. Yet, we kept the cheese and crackers not to create too much hassle (neither of us was even hungry anymore: we had lost our appetite out of this unpleasant situation).
After another half hour (the show was 10min from the end) they came to us with the same ham plate and.. surprise surprise... some bread. At that point was ways too late to eat (22.20). We decided to leave before the show was over, because of the bad vibes and tensions. We left +10€ on the table for the 5/6 little pieces of cheese (ways too much money for that, but we thought this would avoid possible arguments).
It wasn't the case. The owner started to be very rude and unfriendly, threatening to call the police for not paying the untouched ham. We were actually fine with him calling the police: it looked like a bad joke from the beginning. My mom is 85% disable, with stomach diseases, which means she can get sick if she doesn't eat proper food at reasonable meal times; they didn't bring us what we asked for, and let it all be sooo long and late, plus the groupon scam. No problem to share this bad experience with the police.
Finally, he didn't go through with calling the police, and violently pushed me away, shouting to leave. Luckily, he didn't push my mom (probably just because she yelled to him not to dare to touch her).

This was our evening experience. Watch out for the place. Don't trust getting there with groupon.

Space very small, nevertheless they accept > 100 people. Small chairs, very uncomfortable.

Beside the bad service, the dancers were good (the singer had quite bad voice to be honest).

The Tablao was located on the mountain in Albaicin and we had to travel there in the cold and rain only to find out that it was closed when we reached. I called them and they say that they are only open the next day but nobody informed me and nobody refunded me and I'm already leaving Granada in the morning. I want a refund please as I did not manage to watch the Flamenco at all!!!! It was supposed to be the highlight of Granada on our last night and it was ruined because nobody informed me the Tablao is closed on the day I booked which is terrible service, you should have made sure that I was informed and rebooked another place for my Flamenco show. No information and not informing me about it was very unprofessional and I will never book again!!!! TripAdvisor please contact me for the refund. Thank you.

A month ago, I've booked a flamenco show for my boyfriend and I while I was in Granada. The show has been canceled due to covid-19. Since then, we're wainting for the refund of the price of the 2 tickets. Jose Ricardo and the team of Tablao Albayzin do not answer our e-mails and they have been keeping our money (50 €).

You would think; yeah, flamenco for the tourists, duh. But no, this was of great quality. I am glad I witnessed this great group of five persons who gave their best to entertain us.

This was probably the most expensive (30 Euro for entrance) and by far the worst flamenco show which I have seen in Andalusia - totally artificial, with no trace of musicians' inspiration. Countless, really superfluous exclamations "ole!" distracted and got on my nerves - I couldn't hear even several bars of music in a row not broken with all these "ole!" and mocked invigorating shouts. The only artist who showed at least some enthusiasm which seemed to be genuine was the girl who performed an oriental dance. I got tired of the monotonous vocal; I could hardly hear guitar (however, I could still feel the guitarist's clear affection for blues); in dancing, I found more sport than beauty. This performance left me absolutely cold and disengaged and, when I got enough of "ole" - probably after 40 minutes or so - I left the show.

The atmosphere in the hall was also not contributive to perceiving art: spectators were taking photos with flash, talking quite loud during performance, and the waiter was running to and fro with a tray, shouting "Sangria!" - all this was quite disrespectful to musicians and to those who tried to enjoy the show.

We so enjoyed our night at Tablao Flamenco! The dancers were simply fantastic and it was so exciting to watch them around the stage tapping their heels and toes. It was probably one of the highlights of our trip to Granada. It is well worth the $25 we paid for the mission. And that includes a drink. We got our tickets while in the United States several months ahead of time but since it was a Tuesday night, it maybe was not necessary. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Of course this is a Taurus Cheryl, but I believe it is still somewhat authentic. If you get a chance go! We loved it! There's also a great view point right in front of the venue which has a great view of Granada.

There are three sections of seating surrounding the stage. With the two sections flanking the stage occupied, we arrive to be seated in the prime seating in the front of the stage; Al Andulus comes through again. A drink order is taken and the show begins.
Four men and three women take the stage. The men consist of a singer, flute player, guitar player, and a dancer. The three women are dressed in traditional Spanish or Gypsy costumes. Two of the women perform Flamingo and are followed by the man. The third woman performs a belly dance. There is more dancing during a second act.
There is at least one other show running in another room. We observe the dancers walking to it and can hear the foot stomping during quiet periods of our show.
