La Farola is a whitewashed lighthouse at the entrance of the Port of Málaga and was created by engineer Joaquín María Pery y Guzmán and was completed in 1817. It is a very traditional sight in an area that has been completely transformed over the years and remains majestic amongst its new environment.

One of the landmark structures of this most beautiful of city's is La Farola.
Constructed in 1816 and found along the promenade between the Port Of Malaga and Paseo Maritimo Ciudad De Melilla.
This is such a photogenic lighthouse building and adds to the joy of visiting the La Malagueta District, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in area and easy to locate along Paseo Farola.

Lighthouse at Port of Malaga. It’s average and better viewed from a distance as a bit of a long walk and not much else around.

La Farola divides symbolically separates the promenade and the beach of La Malagueta. The lighthouse, the creation of engineer Guzman, turned 200 years old in 2017. The lighthouse survived two centuries with some losses: damaged by an earthquake in 1884 and by fire from the francoist Navy in the civil war of 1936-1939. No access inside.

Built in 1816, the lighthouse is one of the distinctive buildings of the port of Malaga. It can be seen very well, especially in the evening.

If you walk to the end of the pier, you will pass by this big lighthouse. It’s a nice area with lots of people strolling and looking at the boats and the fish. As you pass by, you will be on the beach.

This 38-meter high lighthouse was built in 1816. It has undergone several renovations during its history.
It can be found on the promenade of the same name between the Port of Malaga and Playa de La Malagueta.
From 2011, it has been attached to the Muelle Uno open-air shopping center.
