About
Located in the city’s historic centre, the Hammam Al Ándalus is a recently renovated monumental space that captures the essence of the old Arab baths of Al Ándalus. Its cold, warm and hot water thermal baths form part of the ritual of purification and together with steam, rest and massage rooms, make up an architectural ensemble characterized by beautiful Moorish decoration which induces relaxation of the mind and body.

    A must!
We feel so relaxed! Our first time in an Arabic bath. Great reception. Beautiful facility, which feels hundreds of years old but was actually quite new. Our hour long massages were fantastic. The pools were relaxing, not crowded, could have fallen asleep several times. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of extras in changing room. 5 star experience and well worth the price

    A truly amazing immersive experience
A truly amazing self indulgent experience. From the time we arrived it was evident this was a very professionally run set up. The greeting and registration was seamless as was the care and attention on site all throughout the visit.

    Lovely place - great massage
Lovely Turkish baths with hot and cold baths and sauna. Had a great 2 hours and a good massage in the package i bought. Bit confusing working out what package to buy and the receptionist is comically rude but the staff in the baths itself were very good.

Very good experience, must book in advance
Stunning facility. Worth the money. Agree with other reviews that the visit is rushed and the massage is mediocre. Also, visiting in the winter I wish the place was a bit warmer (!), as walking around and having tea in a wet swimsuit was a little chilly. Perhaps robes in the winter? Otherwise lovely visit.

My pal booked for me as a birthday treat. I had a circuit of the baths and 30min massage.

Positives: very relaxing, quiet, good use of lighting, candles, fragrance to create the mood; beautiful interior, towels got replenished often so you had a nice, soft and alrge towel at the end. Nice touches in the chaging room (shower gel, hair product, moisturiser etc.)

Things to improve: shame that there is no steam room and the hot stones could have been hotter; something to put on feet - some of the plaster is a bit slippy barefoot. If you book a massage it should be added onto your visit time not part of it. the longer you book for the massage the less time you have in the baths.

Dear Susan, At first, we would like to thank your visit and to take part of your spare time to share your opinion about Hammam Al Ándalus Málaga in Tripadvisor. This place is ideal to enjoy by yourself, as a couple, with your family or with friends, every situation is special. Our main service is the Arab baths, inside you will find five hot springs, two of cold water, two warms and one hot, perfect for contrasting temperatures, there is a steam room, a hot stone room for lying down and relax the muscles and a space to relax and drink tea. In addition to this service, as you enjoyed, the baths can be combined with massage from 15 to 60 minutes and also the traditional kessa to complete your experience. Finally, there is a fusion between the services that we have with the environment, which is surrounded by candles, music specially designed for the winter season, the essence and architecture, which are a set of elements that help you to have a good experience. We would like to tell you that the steam room is in the hot zone, exactly between the hot stone room and the hot spring. Our heating system is with geothermal energy, which is a natural process of harnessing the thermal energy of the subsoil and it is distributed between the hot springs and the stones. It is true that all our services last an hour and a half, but for example, almost every month, if you make a reservation from Monday to Sunday at 10h, 12h or at 14h for some services with longer massage you will have unlimited time in the bath. As for walking barefoot, this is because the floor has different temperatures and textures in addition to disinfecting and cleaning it continuously, so it is part of the experience. Anyway, we thank you infinitely for your suggestions as these help us to improve every day. Once again, thank you very much your visit and we hope to see you again. Best Regards,

If you are staying in Malaga & enjoy spa experiences, this is an absolute must.

The setting inside is beautiful, absolutely stunning. It is so atmospheric, with perfect subdued lighting & candles. There are a mix of pools available (cold, warm & hot), & a steam room. I had a 30 minute back massage, which took place in a large room with other people having massages too but it is beautifully quiet & the massage I had was amazing.

The changing rooms were clean & also had the subdued lighting and atmosphere of the main spa area. Towels were available to take into the spa area, which were exchanged for fluffy towels to take into the changing rooms when it was time to leave.

Unlike hotel spas here in the UK, the number of people seemed to be limited to a small number, I would say there were 10-15 of us in total one morning at 10am in September 2022 (and it covers a large area - do not be fooled by the small entrance to the building!).

The focus is very much on the whole relaxing spa experience, which I think gets lost here in the UK, where a lot of people are crammed into a small space, & who use it as an opportunity to chat and catch up about holidays and relationships (which no one else actually wants to hear), when it is meant to be a relaxing and quiet experience for everybody. This relaxing and quiet experience is what we had at Hammam Al Andalus.

This was one of the main highlights of our holiday in Malaga, and if we visit again, this will be the first activity we will book!

Dear customer, First will like to thank you for your visit in the Hammam Al Andalus in Málaga. We do appreciate your kind words about our place and the service you received from us. It is good for us to know all about your experience here, it's the best we can do to improve our metods and costumer services. For your next time, we suggest to you to do our Kessa treatment. Is a lovely ritual to clean your skin with black soap and hot foam, highly recommended for your second time here. Once again, thanks for your visit. We hope you are coming back soon. Kind regards

The baths are a well designed and beautiful space, with a variety of cold, warm and hot pools. There is a steam room and space to sit and enjoy mint tea. Why only “average”? Too many people in one session. It felt like a factory production line of people being taken in and out for treatment. Too much waiting “one more minute” please for different steps in the rather confused journey. My treatment, while lovely, zero privacy next to pool on the floor. This is an expensive hamman (there is cheaper in Malaga) which does not quite provide expected tranquil and high end experience. A shame as could be amazing!

Booked this hammam as a treat, given it’s appeared authenticity, with a scrub and massage.
I can say that the massage and scrub was extremely well done however i felt cold after the each scrub and massage.
The hammam it’s self was very cool inside and the water pools weren’t very warm either

Decided to leave early and went to the mens shower only to find the shower we’re cold also.

Could have been a lot better if it was warmer inside..

Was a little skeptical with teenagers but booked us in anyway. We all loved it, the place manages the number of people who can come in (hence the reservations) so there are never more than 1 or 2 people if anyone in the pools with you. Massage and scrub were fantastic and everything was very smooth with staff guiding you to your next steps. Truly amazing experience that could have gone either way so thumbs up to the staff for doing it the right way.

Quite annoying experience and wasted time + Uber fare. Tried making reservation via online which didn't work. No worries, online stuff don't always work. Tried calling the place few times during the day. Nobody answers the phone. Fine, maybe they are busy. Go all the way to th place as it did show multiple available spots few hours prior only to be told everything is booked. Annoying.

If you have a phone number on your website - please ANSWER the phone. If I would have called only once, fine that would have been on me. But I did try to call few times and waited quite a bit on the phone for someone to answer. Would have loved to come and try the place out, but after wasting close to an hour to come here and go back to hotel, my enthusiasm is not so high.

The place itself might be good though, who knows (obviously not me). Just make sure you do have a reservation before you go, call them as long as it takes for them to answer the phone if reservation via online doesn't work, because otherwise you might be left extremely disappointed.

Liked it so much I went twice in a week! First time had the 30 minute massage, 15 minute scrub and 45 minute baths. Second time it was the Winter experience: 40 minute massage and 80 minutes in the baths (which included candle and oil lighting rituals, a sweet wine drink, and hand washing rituals).

Very professional and friendly staff. Architecture was stunning and baths were atmospheric. Also had an area to just sit and enjoy sweet tea. The straighteners in the changing rooms were an added bonus.

Can’t recommend this enough - I’ve been to hammans in Turkey and baths in Budapest and this is up there with those places

I booked it with the traditional scrup but they took it down as a normal massage. I did not get a conformation per email not in spam either so I could not control it. Confronted with the normal 15 min massage I denied that bit did not get any solution. Was promised again an email with a solution which did not happen since 5 days. So bad customer service I do say.
