This was 2 minutes walk from where I was staying so I sat here at least once a day every day. All the bus tours, walking tours etc. came for a look around. In the evening young children were running around playing and locals were out with their dogs. Nice to just sit and see what was happening. Loads of... More

It is a square with Picasso sculpture in the corner, close to the house where Picasso was born. The square is an excellent meeting point close to cafes and restaurants and a lot more. You can also sit down on the benches and just look at the people passing by and enjoy the sun. Around plaza you could often smell... More

This is a lively square surrounded by restaurants and main attraction being the bronze statue of Picasso for photo opportunity. Our walking tour ended here and so we spend some time taking pictures with Picasso. The 2nd floor corner flat behind the statute was Picasso's house, where he was born. In the center is a obelisk in remembrance. Benches surround... More

How nice to sit here on a Sunny day! You can find old Picasso on the bench. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants around, where you can taste delicious tapas, paella and skip a glass or two of delicious wine.

Located at the top end of Calle Granada, Plaza de la Merced is a large, lively square. North side is filled with cafes and restaurants with tables outside as they get a lot of sunshine during the day. A house where Picasso was born is also located at this square. In the center you will find an obelisk in memory... More

This is a nice plaza with the house where Picasso was born. Lots of cafes in which to grab a drink and some food. One side is not very nice and the feel in this place was not as good as others in Malaga.

Bronze statue of Picasso sitting on a bench in front of his birthplace. Great place to get a picture with Picasso. Memorial in the center is where some are buried the fought for Liberty.

You have to walk by or through the square when going to visit thw Picasso birthplace museum on one of the corners. There are many cafes and bars around the square with tempting menus as well as many people coming and going so there is always lots to see.

Have a look at the obelisk in the middle - there is a break in it where it was damaged during an earthquake many years ago!! Many shops, cafes and bars round the square
