    Lovely fresh produce
Extremely busy but lots of interesting food stalls inside. Fresh produce ranging from fruits to fish, vegetables to the best meats. A few tables and chairs outside but some are right beside a busy road and probably not the best place to eat! We’ve been to similar markets across Spain and Portugal but this is the smallest. Worth a visit and prices seemed to be very reasonable for fresh food.

    Outstanding
Incredible place ….every time I go to a Spanish market I’m left wondering why us English can’t learn from them Beautiful architecture, steeped in history, looked after and some absolutely gorgeous produce. Buzzing atmosphere, some great eateries, we had some amazing tapas from a fishmonger that grilled it Uber fresh for us. Overall a great atmosphere and possibly the highlight of my Malaga trip

    Vibrant
This is a vibrant, busy, bustling indoor market. Lots of stalls with colourful fruit and veg, breads and sweet treats. Great selection of meat and fish or you can just have a quick drink with some tapas. When I got home and went food shopping it was quite depressing!!

A feast for the eyes and tummy
It was a great place to have a wander and the stalls are a feast for the eyes. I had lunch at the place with the photos and it was magnificent. The staff were friendly and the service was good. This place was not snooty either.it was reasonably priced and tasted amazing!

Good to visit whilst in Malaga
Interesting to see all of the wonderful Spanish food in the market. Do take time to eat at the outside fish restaurant. All cooked fresh to order. I had Langoustines which were wonderful cooked in garlic butter and my husband had oysters which he said were excellent all washed down with some good local white wine.

    The play of colours
An eye opening experience, colourful, busy with a novelty atmosphere. The food could be cooked in front of you and served at the counter bar. You chose your food and wine, they will make it and serve it for you. Amazing.

    Just loved this great market
I am a big fan of food markets and I really liked this one. Incredible seafood selection, great choices of fruits and vegetables and just about any food stuff you can imagine and it is show just to walk it, even though it is always very crowded. What a joy it is for any foodie. Just loved it.

Go, explore and try, it’s fun
Yes busy, but fun to explore. I read previous comments about people being rude and abusive. We stopped and the few stalls we bought stuff, people were friendly. We tried freshly cut ham and fizzy wine, they were great and people behind the till were happy to chat and advertise their products. I would say go and explore, be aware people selling there are busy and they do their best to attract potential customers.

    busy indoor market
This large indoor market is in a side street not far from the port area and very busy when we visited on a weekday afternoon. There appears to be two sections - one was closed and I think that’s the fish market area and is perhaps only open mornings? The fruit and veg area was full of stalls selling a wide variety of produce. Cafes are dotted around the exterior. A good place to visit if looking for fresh local produce.

We always make it a point to visit this wonderful market, but this time I ended up with a disappointment. I wanted to but salted cod to take home and selected a nice piece which I asked the vendor to cut in manageable pieces. He offered to also seal it in plastic to which I gladly agreed. To do so he went in a small adjacent room and sure enough after a few minutes he emerged with two sealed plastic packages. BUT he had switched the cod and I ended up with very inferior cuts which barely had any flesh on them and were full of spines! Caveat emptor - buyer beware! :)))

Busy. Great to walk about and check out all the stalls. Afterwards take a seat outside for lunch. Only advice we can give is please check the menu carefully and make sure you know what your are ordering. The waiters are quick to recommend items "off the menu" (eg specials) which are significantly more expensive. Our lunch turned out to be the most expensive meal we had on our holiday.

We do love an indoor produce market and they don't come better than this one. Many stalls with so much beautiful fruit, veg, meat and fresh fish, I wish we had a market like this near home. The prices looked reasonable considering the quality.
If you like fish, a few of the sellers will cook several varieties to order, as tapas. We stopped at the stall almost under the huge stained glass window and enjoyed fresh tuna skewers and garlicky prawn skewers, grilled on the plancha and washed down with an ice cold beer. All at only 12 euro's for 2 of us!

Amazing building, inviting stalls full of colorful vegetables, fruit, dried fruit, sweets, fish and meat, just to mention a few. I had lunch standing at a stall, enjoying so tasteful octopus skewers with green sauce! Another amazing food experience was to taste local almonds and figs, definitely special. A place where you can pass and pass again, always finding something worth trying

Brilliant bustling atmosphere early morning, fresh colourful prawns, interesting fish, variety of spanish cheeses, olives and oil, fruit and vegetables piled high. Tapas eateries around the perimeter very busy during lunchtime. All quiet by afternoon.

Great market, big and beautiful. A lot of fruit, olives, seafood and meat. Can recommend to buy the salted almonds, manchego cheese with truffle and Malaga olives.

This indoor food market is fantastic! It is well-organized, extremely clean, has a huge number of vendors and excellent prices. This is a market dedicated to eating fresh. Nearly everything you can think of to eat is here - except baked goods! (For bread and baked goods you go out on the street to the north - within a block there are 3 bakeries). More varieties of seafood, olives and dried fruit than most of us in North America ever imagined existed. This is the place to get thick cut pork chops (from the butcher) - the ones in the grocery stores are about half the thickness we are accustomed to. When staying in an apartment or condo, this is the place to shop because you can buy small quantities of fruit, veg, meat, fish, etc. - no "stocking up" necessary. Don't miss the spectacular stained glass window on the north end of the building. There are several restaurants/snack bars on the south side of the building - stand there and eat, or jostle for an outside table in good weather. About a 7 minute walk from the Malaga-Centro-Alameda train station, and less than 2 minutes from the Atarazanas metro stop.

Lovely atmosphere for lunch in the sun here but beware. When choosing our tapas, the Happy Fish waiter told us they had run out of gambas pil pil but had some other gambas on the specials. When our bill came instead of the €6 for this it was more like €60. Yes, we should have asked how much but we imagined it was just a straight swap of something similar. The Happy Fish waiter then became rude and agressive when we challenged the bill. The experience rather spoiled our lunch and we felt it was probably a regular scam. Order nothing without asking the price if it’s not listed on the menu

I do not recomend this restaurant. This restaurant cheats for sure the tourists. You pay much too much for badly proposed dishes.
