Steep climb up the hill but worth it for the 360 degree views over Malaga, the mountains and the Mediterranean. There’s a small museum explaining the history of the castillo (in Spanish only). Not much else to see other than walk round the walls. The Alcazaba lower down the hill is more pleasant for atmosphere and well maintained gardens.

A very slow and steep climb to the top but once there the views are magnificent. Allow plenty of time if you are walking to the top my wife and I managed it but with a few stops to admire the views and catch our breath

Steep 20 minute walk up from the old town Unremarkable views on the way up 3.50 Euro to enter the castle and very little to see up there . A small museum lacking any information in English and no information points elsewhere . Basically not worth the effort

So glad we went here before we left Malaga. It was a slightly challenging 20 minute walk uphill in the heat. Would be a struggle with a pram and not sure if there is better access for wheelchairs. The views are breathtaking and its lovely to stroll around the grounds at the top. If you dont want to go into the cathederal you dont have to pay.

A long walk up to the castle but the views are very good from the top, however, you can still see the views as you walk up so if it's just the view then there is no need to go inside. Probably not a good choice to walk up on a hot day. There is a joint ticket available for here and the Alcazaba
