There are plenty of buses from Alameda Central to El Palo. If you exploring the area, it’s really worth investing in a Bonobus pass (available from all Tabacs) with a strip of 10 tickets – 4 journeys and you've paid for the pass..

Its a very pleasant walk back along the prom from El Palo. There and in Playa Malagueta you pass a number of Chiringuitos -wood shacks on the beach with barbecues grilling local fish. The houses along the front are very picturesque too

We just came back from El palo , 15 mins drive East of Malaga , going for 5 night between Xmas and new year . We didn’t want to go to a tourist zone and find 50% of places shut . El palo was lovely , Very Spanish , ( get the google translate app and try your best ) vibrant , clean beach with shallow bays ( still warm enough to paddle ) , full of sea front fresh fish restaurants , play areas every 10 mins along the beach . Lots of nice Chorros with choc dip and in the local cafes . Our teenager even hired an electric scooter and came back from Malaga on it taking the sea front route . Bus was very easy into Malaga €1.30 which had stunning Xmas lights a lovely Xmas market in the harbour area . We’ll be going back 👍🏻
