This piece of Cadíz history has been integrated well into its modern day infrastructure. It's like the gateway between the old and new parts of the city. At Christmas time, it was decorated nicely.

You can walk to the top of the battlements and walk around where the city's protectors once walked. It was larger on top than I expected. Nice views.

The symbol of the city Cadiz and a wonderful piece of architecture. The tower marks the boundary between new and old and is extremely impressive.

This is the entry to the old city. It is impressive and represents the architecture of the time. It is a very busy street so you need to be careful in crossing.

This is an imposing stone construction that once guarded the landside entrance to the city. Nowadays, it strides colossus-like across the road into/from the city, marking the delineation between the “old” and “new” towns. Consequently, it is usually the locus of heavy traffic that passes...More
