We went on a Monday in February...and it was open, which was a good start. We had to wait a mere 20 mins for the camera obscure, time which whizzed past even for the kids as we admired the view from the top of the tower. The camera obscura tour itself was conducted in perfect English (somewhat embarrassingly because I... More

The camera obscura gives a great "live" over view of the city. Fantastic 360 view of the city from the top. Friendly, entertaining staff.

Quite a climb to the top of the tower but it is worth it for the views of Cadiz. You can see the whole of the old city so you really get a good idea of the lay out of the town. The Camara Oscura session is included in the price of the ticket, and attendants will let you know... More

If you visit Cadiz, Torre Tavira is one of the places definitely should be visited. You can view the city panoramically at the top of the tower. Besides, camera obscura is lovely experience, the attraction points of the city showed in the 10-15 minutes presentation. Totally worth going there and paying €6. If you plan visiting Cadiz, add Torre Tavira... More

I was surprised, this tower is really special,it's the tower of a house and was destinated to duty the ships by there owners. So they have a very original way to see them in real time. The hole city reflected (old camara system) on a big plate in a black room, and you can see the city and the see... More

IMO, there is not much to see or do in Cadiz and this is something. I thought the camera obscura was fascinating. It was included as part of a day trip. I don;t think I would spend more than a euro or two to see it otherwise. Great overview of the city.

Nice view over the city. The camera obscura is a bonus, very nice to see and on top of that a guide informs you about the must sees in this beautiful city. Definitely worth the 6 euros, especially on a sunny day when you have the best views...

I really enjoyed my visit. I've never been in a camera obscura before and this was a really unusual and delightful experience. Lovely tour guides with a great enthusiasm for their fabulous tower and its camera projections.

We did this as part of a Viator Tour - Sherry Tasting, Andalusian Horse Show, Tavira Tower, & Cadiz Ferry Ride. I thought this was just going to be a stop where we climb up the high tower, take a few pictures and that’d be it. I didn’t realize it had a special “periscope” type of viewing device. The tour... A relatively small tower, only 45 meter above the sea level, but with amazing views + camera obscura! If in Cadiz, it is definitely a must. Just don't go shortly before they want to close, because you will miss the camera obscura (a special way to view the city with a kind of periscope). The entry is not free!
