The gardens are the best part of the Alcazar in Cordoba. If you have seen the gardens in Seville and Granada then these are not anywhere near as spectacular but they are still quite enjoyable. I would recommend this as the 2nd place to visit...More

This is the part of the Alcarzar (fortified palace) to see. The layout, fountains and variety of plants is exceptional. Visit early in the day as it can get quite hot here in late afternoon.

This is a long strip of gardens and green from the train station down to the old part of Cordoba and provides a pleasant respite from the hustle and bustle of modern Cordoba.

These are wonderful and ancient, but very well maintained gardens in the middle of Cordoba. In all the beauty, take time to look down and note the ancient and still functioning gravity based channels that feed the water to the gardens.

While the mosaics were interesting, the actual Alcazaba is not the highlight, but the gardens ARE. So gorgeous, so peaceful. I could not get over how clever they were with the irrigation systems, and that the gardens were cool in the 100 degree heat.

After the fort, this is a great place to wander round, take in all the ponds and plants, relax and enjoy the quiet of life.

Included with the admission fee to the Alcazaba are these formal, tranquil and inspiring gardens. Well worth the time and effort, if only to savour the dazzling array of colour. Take a stroll from one end to the other. Enjoy the sweet floral aroma that...More

Just beside the Alcazaba, you can visit its gardens. It is nice to see this green area just close to the city center.
