About
The Palace of Viana is a lived house until the end of 20th century by noble families but with a great popular flavor instead. One of its main attractiveness are the "patios" and the garden that make it be known as Museum of the Patios. Indoor and outdoor are perfectly integrated, giving to the palace an original harmony. Among the collections stand out paintings, tapestries, leather and ceramic tiles among others.

    Beautiful collection of courtyard gardens
We visited the patios (courtyards) only for 8€ although there is an option to go in the house as well for extra 4€. Very beautiful collection of 12 courtyards with various themes and history. Very well kept. Visited in January so not as much flowering as rest of year but still lovely. About 15 minute walk from Mezquita and definitely worth it

Enjoyable Villa Showcasing Centuries of Living
Outstanding family villa/palace dating back several centuries. The interior rooms are well-preserved and show how the home developed over the different eras. Including a tour of the gardens in your ticket price is a must. The gardens surround the house and are as varied as all the individual rooms. Your tour will be in Spanish only. Non-Spanish speakers will get a printed brochure and you'll tag along behind the group.

A house full of art and interesting history
The house is crammed with beautiful art and antiques but can only be visited as part of a pre booked tour. The tour takes about an hour and is provided in Spanish only. None Spanish speakers are provided with a basic informational leaflet that is easy to follow as the tour progresses. The written aspect of the tour is not perfect the visit to the house is not to be missed. The surrounding patio gardens are beautiful even out of season. Be sure to pre book the house tour which can be done online because the group numbers are relatively small.

    Lovely gardens
Lovely place to visit and the gardens are really interesting. Worth booking on a tour of the palace although they are in Spanish and you get an English booklet. Tour takes about 45 mins so need to factor that in.

    Beautiful courtyards.
For 12 euros you can visit the beautiful courtyards and have a guided tour of the castle which is in Spanish only, but a leaflet in English is available that covers the main points and the most prominent artefacts…this tour lasts roughly for an hour and no photography allowed inside. If you only want to see the courtyards only there is a charge of 8 euros and you can wander around at your own pace and take as many pictures as you like and you will as they are very colourful. There is an excellent cafe outside the palace gates where you can eat and drink and relax after walking about…also a small shop inside the palace

    A splendid little palace
It's a splendid little palace. Its contents, including magnificent gobelins and many paintings, furniture settings, etc. were in a condition that we had never really seen. Stuff that is 500+ years old in mint condition, not faded. How do/did they do it! The only thing is, why not make available English audio guides sinstead of having to follow through with a Spanish-only guide? (A French guy asked the guide: we're eight of us, do you mind if I translate for my group after you say your piece? The guide answered: No, this is a Spanish tour!) We have found the reluctance to accommodate English an inhibiting factor throughout our Spanish route (3 weeks).) But again, do add this gem to your list!

    12 beautiful patios
Arrived just 10 mins after opening before it gets too crowded. Toured only the 12 patios as I am not particularly interested in stuffy old furniture and rooms. There are English signs for each of the patios, some with very colourful names indeed eg Patio of the Lost Cats! Every patio had its own unique feature, all were beautiful.

    Viana Patios Cordoba
We visited the patio gardens and palace ground floor option. So beautiful, what an amazing find. You must visit for a couple of hours when in Cordoba. Outside is a lovely cafe for a drink and snack when finished.

    Oasis of calm ...
This palace is situated to the east of the main tourist area of the city, but it’s worth the walk to seek out this oasis of tranquility. The gardens comprise 12 individual, large patio areas, each with its own theme. Info boards explain the history and planting of each area. The colours are vibrant. The water features cooling. There are seats to just sit and enjoy the ambiance. Stunning to enjoy this green interlude in the middle of a busiling urban city. Inexpensive too.

I was anxious to visit this location because I read positive reviews. The gardens were well appointed and fun to see the variety. When we purchased tickets at the door, we were told theEnglish tour of the palace was in 45 minutes. We waited and then were told there were no English tours, only Spanish. French and English speakers were given a paper with very abbreviated information. We stayed at the rear of the tour so Spanish speakers could hear and then took our turn to look at the rooms. The guide was signaling us to move along. The room furnishings were shabby and not very interesting.
Quite a disappointment and a tourist attraction we could have skipped

First things first, if you want to visit the rooms in the Palace, get online and book. We only realised this by looking at reviews on here. By the time we were checking, 4pm and 6pm sold out and only 3pm left, so we had to walk quickly from central Cordoba.

Entrance for tour and gardens is currently €12 and gardens only is €8. What that does not tell you is that most ground floor rooms are visible from the gardens with placards giving you some information.

That said, for an extra €4, if you are interested in history, tapestries, furniture or interiors, the tour of the first floor is worth it. The tour is in Spanish only but by studying my English leaflet, I have sufficient grasp of Spanish to know the guide wasn't telling them anything not in the leaflet. He just took twice as many words to say it.

The patios are lovely- more greenery than colour planting, however all in all a worthwhile visit. On the day we went, which was really hot, it was also calm and a bit away from the crowds queueing for the patios down in the centre.

The Palacio is worth a trip if you have the time, but I’d rate it well behind the Alcazar & Mezquita if you’re on a tight schedule. It is possible to visit just the patios, there’s 12 of them, interlinked, but the Palacio can only be entered by booking the guided tour, which lasts around an hour. This is conducted in Spanish only, with pamphlets given out for some other languages. No fault of the guide, but I found the interior rather dull, especially the initial rooms, which feature paintings, tiles, tapestries, weaponry, archives, etc. The Marquises’ private apartments were more interesting - but not a must see.

This is another beautiful home showcasing the traditional Spanish patio. Each patio is unique and some display intricate mosaics, others have orange trees blanketing the walls in greenery and fruit. We went in February and given the temperate climate of the region were still able to see enough flowers in bloom. It would be lovely to see these patios in full bloom in all the seasons.

A little bit out of the main tourist area but definitely worth a visit if time allows. You can buy a ticket to just view the 12 patios or a ticket that allows a tour of the house too - we did the combined tour and although the house tour is in Spanish, you are given a detailed leaflet in English. We booked our tickets before we travelled as they are limited. The patios are beautiful although they would probably be more colourful in the early summer than when we went in September but I think there would be something worth seeing at any time of the year.

Lovely gardens and I Enjoyed seeing inside of house, although I don’t usually view wealthy homes, nice tapestries and tile collection. But house tour requires a guide; our all-business, dull 5:45 guide seemed as is she wanted to be elsewhere, and maybe so. We started late. She never asked if we had questions, and no one ever posed one. Still, glad I saw what I did on sept 28.

Lovely patios
We could not visit fully because we had to wait 45 min for the next tour to start so we decided to take the partial ticket of the patios.
They should have audio guides for people like us who do. It want to wait 45 min for a tour to start. Pity we missed the complete site.
Patios are lovely.
