This is a small, intimate gallery featuring the art of one man, a Cordoban who was a fan of flamenco and truly loved his home town, which is portrayed in most of the paintings. After seeing the few paintings in the entryway (don't miss the portrait of the nun) and one room on the ground floor, you climb a beautiful... More

Had intended to visit fine art museum but turned right not left and found myself in the museum Julio Romero de Torres. The very helpful man behind the desk asked if I was over 70 and on production of passport told me admission was free. Would have happily paid the 4 euro 50 entrance fee for such an exquisite collection... More

Personally I love Julio's style of painting. I had never beard of him before Cordoba trip! Beautiful soulful paintings, tinged with passion and sadness. Definitely worth a visit and building is lovely too. Takes about 1 hour to go round. We got €10 ticket which includes Alcazar Caliphate bathes Museum Taurino too. Good value!!

I like visiting art exhibitions generally but I found this place depressing. Most of the paintings have the same subject and the overall impression for me was sadness and obsession. All the eyes seem to stare at one with great intensity and of course the execution of the painting is brilliant - but it just doesn't go beyond that -... More

We visited this excellent gallery in September 2016 and were really glad we did. This museum starts with a little context in that the artists father and other family members were also artists - so there are a few family pictures. After that it really warms up and it is immediately noticeable that many of the fabulous painting, painted over... More

The tempestuous love affair of an artist and his model draws one to this museum. Inside is stored a lush collection of the artist's works which gives an insight into the man's preoccupations with women, death and faith. A must see for fans of the artist and a great experience for those who wish to delve into the stories of... More
