The modern museum has a collection of items that span the millenniums in Cordoba from Greco-Roman pieces to Christianity. The museum is well designed and documented with literature and audio-visual displays. Mainly of interest to older children and historians. The ruins beneath the museum are somewhat interesting, however, there is not enough left to truly inspire. The Amphitheatre in Malaga... More

This is a small but very high quality museum that presents an overview of Cordoba's past, from Prehistory through to about 1400. The number of objects is limited, but they are all of excellent quality, and they are presented very well. There are numerous reconstruction drawings, some multimedia presentations, and great didactic panels in both English and Spanish. In the... More

A very well constructed, interesting museum. I am impressed there are so many artefacts, findings from Córdoba. The example of an excavation is very interesting.

The museum has many Roman and Islamic artifacts that are nicely displayed. The museum is built over the remains of a Roman theater that you can see in the basement.

Interesting, modern building occupying the corner of a "tucked away" old square and which should also incorporate the adjoining period building with a wonderful old facade on completion of this project. Helpful, friendly staff and eclectic range of exhibits, well presented with very helpful English translations. For me the highlight was the way the building has been constructed to retain... More

This stunning little museum is tucked away from the tourist trail but is well worth hunting down. The exhibits are well displayed in an ultra-modern building and give one a real insight into Cordoba's history - Roman, Visigoth, Moorish and Christian. A mild criticism is that many of the explanations are only in Spanish - no problem if you understand... More

This museum is a little hard to find, but once inside there are artefacts ranging from prehistory through to later centuries of Roman, Moorish and then Christian occupation. In the basement there is an partially uncovered Roman theatre. The collections are beautifully presented.

i found this museum very informative and actually quite entertaining. It is not too dense and can be seen in about 1 hour. We enjoyed thoroughly our visit and definitely learnt a lot. It is setup in chronological order and you can get to know about Cordoba and its history. The museum is actually built over and around ruins from... More
