We turned up at 3pm on a Tuesday, which is during opening hours. There was no way to access the visitors centre and no sign of a bus - just of other confused tourists. After waiting until 3.30pm, we left.

We have been twice before and were really looking forward to seeing the Caliph’s rooms and the gardens again, but were very disappointed that both were closed and we couldn’t even get near them. However, the rest of the site is quite interesting and some...More

We visited the Madinet Al-Zahra today as part of our two day hop on hop off ticket. It seems to be a long way out of town for not very much. Perhaps if there had been better tourist information brochures available in English it may...More

We booked the tourist bus to get there on the same day, it takes 15-20’ but it is worth the trip. The archeological site is very nice, but a bit tiring under the sun for children. Back in the museum/ticket office a well made 15’...More

We got a private tour because we were the only English speaking people that day but it was only a general historical overview not a specialized archeological tour.

Only just found this. Go to the Tourist Office in , I think Plaza Tendillas. They sell bus tickets. They also tell you where to get the bus. Well worth visiting
