The historical timeline of Jena is very nice, but everything is explained in German. I found the contemporary expositions not very nice either...

We were a group of friends being definitely interested in local culture and the traditions of the area, hence went to visit the museum. We were impressed by the collection of artefacts demonstrating how people have been surviving centuries ago, as well how the area...More

The staircase leading up to the various exhibits contains a detailed informative time-line of Jena's development. Its history is lengthy and varied for a town of its size, not least owing to the importance of its distinguished university, manufacturing history and trade. Its small and...More

Have been here several times with visitors to Germany. Once with a family member who spent a significant part of her child hood in Jena and Kunitz. An honest, entertaining and informative look at the history of Jena, which is formidable!!!

Visited this with a woman who spent her primary school years living in Jena prior to the GDR. Splendid representation of life as it was.

I live around the corner from the Stadtmuseum and have gone at least five or six times - by myself, with friends, and on dates. What I like about the Stadtmuseum is that alongside a non-changing exhibition on important elements of the city's history, there...More

When I visited Jena, the last days of the 3 month long art exhibition of paintings by Henry van de Velde and other impressionists and neo-impressionists was on. Though I couldn't catch the full impact because they had no English audio-guides, I still enjoyed the...More
