At the time the old houses where still in renovation. This is the 100 years aniversary of the bauhaus it was dissapointing.

Not having enough time, we just passed by but it was enough impressive to see the Bauhaus masters' houses from th outside. This UNESCO listed site is under reconstruction now, so thus may be about all you can do now.

by the look of the extensive amount of work being carried out on the houses, the visit will be worth making in a year or 2... right now it is still worth a look but on the outside only

This was interesting enough but there wasn't really enough background and nor did we see what the "lived-in" houses looked like. For me, the Kurt Weill section was the most interesting.
