This historic bridge is currents just for pedestrians and very busy. Work is ongoing, seemingly to turn it into a carriageway, which is perhaps a pity.

Unfortunately I passed the bridge while it underwent a substantial renovation, hence could not really admire its beauty. Still the place if of prime importance as it crosses the unique Elbe landscape, a river that stretches through whole Germany till North Sea. This landscape used...More

At present the bridge is under renovation. However, it is still possible to cross and it was very popular with the locals enjoying their weekend strolls.

The bridge is still accessible on one side as the other side is under renovation. However it offers a real nice view of the city.

Can't see much of it--under what look like extensive repais/rebuilding. The trams have been re-routed. Pedestrians and bikes can still cross over.

Currently the bridge is undergoing extensive renovations and it does not look so nice. It is still a magnificent bridge with all the construction that is going on. Now it only takes pedestrians and bicycles, so no other traffic can use it.

This bridge goes over the elba and conects the new town with the old. The bridge has car tram and foot trafic and is the most important bridge in town. You take great pictures from the bridge so take the walk and the camera

The bridge named after one of the most famous dukes of Saxony (and king of Poland) is right in the middle of the Centre, near the Opera house, the Zwingler, spanning the Elbe river. Great place for photo's.
