You must visit. It takes at least three hours. Dresden its a great City, you must see it all. Museum are always best to visit in the morning, less people so you can see the paintings with more detail

Famous masterpieces of Rafael, Van Dyjk, Vermeer, Boticelli can be found here. The gallery is inside the famous Zwinger (an architectural masterpiece) and the ticket includes also a visit to other nearby museums. It's worth spending a day here

This gallery has not a big yet brilliant collection of European masterpieces. Some of them are much spoken about, like, for example, Rafael’s Madonna Sistina, or Rembrandt and Saskia. Others are not. The charming pastel by Liotard, La Belle Chocolatiere, is presented in an isolated...More

Particularly strong in Rembrandt, Lucas Cranach and Van Dyke. Spacious and well presented galleries that leave plenty of space for quiet contemplation of the art on display.

This museum was one of the "must fit in" attractions and highlights of our Dresden stay. There is plenty to see covering a broad range of sculptures, bronzes and of course the old master's on display. I'd say too much of the old religious themed...More

The collection itself is amazing, however the museum guide is not clear, where you can find which collection + unfortunately many rooms (majority of the collection) were closed and will be closed until 2019. The staff is really nice and helpful!

I visited in June and the queue only took a few minutes, but of course none of us can guarantee what it will be like the day you visit. I advise simply arriving early in the day.

You have good taste. The girl is reading, definitly, she is holding the letter with two hands and the letter is probably from her lover.
