The Historisches Museum has two areas to explore. The first is the museum itself with well presented displays and historical information about Saarbrucken. The information gives a great insight into the area. The second section is the underground area which has the original footings from...More

This activity can be a bit long but it was really interesting to learn about the History of the region. The place is definitely beautiful. If you plan to visit it, think about improving your language skills as the descriptions are in German and French!

The place is interesting to see but not very large. The Museum is specialized in the 20 th. century close to the entrance in one place and one can see the old walls of the middleage (16. and 17. thcentury) inside on the bottom.

Saarland took part in the Olympics 1952. Just one of all interesting things you get to know. And the building is great.

Only 5€ per person and definitely worth it. It's outside appearance is deceiving of its size. Majority of the museum is underground. Expect to spend at least 2 hours here, longer if you understand German or French. It is a great place for those interested...More
