It's right next door to a Kebap cafe. You enter via a courtyard. The entrance is crowned by beautiful statues. Once inside the church, take note of the large crucifix and the tall ceiling.

We saw the steeple of the church from afar when we were in the center square of Trier and we snapped photos. After sightseeing there, we went around looking for St. Gangolf. We kept running into dead ends but were persistent. We finally came upon...More

The inside is incredible. There is meaning everywhere. I've seen reviews saying it's a hidden gem. This is accurate. You can just walk in, until they close the gates out front, at any time. They open early too, in case you have to get on...More

The St. Gangolf church is an almost hidden gem just off the Hauptmarkt ... in fact its tower is part of the spectacular view that is the town square. Just look for the ornate gate and enter to find the church.

Don't miss this. This is the most beautiful church we've visited. Much more understated, but beautiful and serene!

The tower is the most notable part but you'll see that from the Hauptmarkt. Take a look inside though as it's small and has some nice paintings on the walls.

With its four corner turrets, the white and mustard bell tower of Saint Gangolf’s rises elegantly behind the houses on the Main Market; it contributes greatly to the general appeal of the square. The entrance to this market and parish church is in the tower....More

Not a big church, the entrance partly hidden yet the beautiful tower will guide you the way. Once the tower is seen you will not stop finding this church until you get there. It is another medieval church where Trier has a lot to offer....More

I was particularly drawn to the church's Gothic features and color scheme rivaling that of an apricot. As if to beckon me welcome, a magnolia was blossoming in the chilly spring weather, its petals scattering across the wind with each breeze. it was truly magical....More
