Went to Rick Steves vantage point in the square and was engaged by a man who knew everything about what we had just read. We finally realized we were about to rent a guide if we did not watch it (this happened to us in...More

Whether is is on a Christmas market or in summer time, this large market place offers plenty of ancient sights. The churches nearby and the Porta Nigra are just a few reminders of centuries of richdom.

You can so often find things going on in this square. When it's empty, you can see the variety of beautiful and interesting buildings and when it's busy, enjoy the atmosphere. So great to have such a historic area as part of a lively city...More

A lively small-town square which has a fruit and veg market from Monday-Saturday. A couple of interesting monuments and several attractive buildings. There are public toilets (you may have to pay).

This market is a must see! It's beautiful, historic, and has almost everything you can ask for! Good food, clothes, ice cream, book stores, souvenirs etc!

The place where everything happens in downtown Trier. Shopping, site seeing, special events and restaurants merge in one place. Try to stay in a hotel nearby so you can visit often during your stay.

Definitely worth a visit for some lovely photos. Nice fountain, beautiful buildings, lots if cafes and restaurants, all more expensive than just a few streets away, but that is to be expected in the main square of any town or city.
