September 6, 2018 - Our river cruise stopped at Trier. After a wonderful walking tour, we had an opportunity to visit Karl Marx's House on our own and it was a good visit. The entrance fee was 3.5 euro and worth every penny. The Karl...More

As one who believes Marx and Engels have a great deal to offer in understanding our world, I strongly recommend this. Accessible narrative throughout the building explains M's life and contribution.

Karl Marx Haus is a very well presented testament to the great philosopher and revolutionary thinker. As a visitor I admire the Germans’ willingness to look unflinchingly at their past history unlike the British, the Americans and the French

Not a proper house museum in the sense that there aren’t objects or mementoes of the philosopher - apart from his armchair - but very informative and educational

The birthplace of one the most influential German scholars of the 19th century, the Karl Marx House in Trier. Too touristy, just walk by the house.

Karl-Marx-Haus Museum is a tasteful and appropriately designed destination for both fans and non-fans of Marx. His life story and the history of his times are painted, graphic-novel style, on the walls of the house. It's a treat for fans of history and for anyone...More

This museum does an excellent job providing context for the development of Marx's theories. There aren't that many artifacts, mostly photographs. But the curators have created a compelling narrative. I recommend it.
