Located just next to Mainzer Dom , there you can find World-famous early-Gothic figures, taken from the former western rood screen, can be seen in the vaulted halls, which date from the time of the Swabian dynasty in the Middle Ages.

Photography in the main museum is not allowed indoors. Within the Mainz Cathedral and in the outdoor cloisters, it is, regardless of what any cranky locals say. Take photos in a discrete manner with no flash or tripod and it should be no problem. The...More
