All these buildings have been restored beautifully since WW2. It is interesting to see photographs of Koblenz in 1945 to understand the level of devastation. Bearing this in mind the restoration is pretty stunning.

One of the better old buildings in the historic old town. Standing in the heavy rain looking at it made me wonder what life must have been many years ago when it was new and there were no umbrellas!

The Old Town in Koblenz is quite beautiful with its baroque-style buildings. During World War II it was the location of the command of German Army Group B and like many other German cities, it was heavily bombed and rebuilt afterwards. The Allied strategy was...More

Not really much remains of the old town as a result of WW2. These buildings with the quaint little corners form a good landmark to find your way around. They are very nice in their own right and lead on to a pretty square.

The artwork in this square was beautiful. The old town of Koblenz is really a great place to visit with all the cafes, shops, and fountains it is s really relaxed place to visit.

This intersection, Vier Turme ("four towers") is pretty much in the center of Altstadt at the intersection of Marktstrasse/Löhrstrasse and Am Plan/Altengraben. These buildings with their oriel windows and towers have been beautifully restored since the city was so horribly bombed during World War II....More

Such a cool old area. It's worth stopping in Koblenz just to see these four corners. The facades are absolutely beautiful. A lot of history here, we don't get to see this in the states.

I looked at old photos of this area from 1945 and it is incredible how the Vier Turme have been lovingly restored. Many cities in the world could take a page out of Germany's book for their civil pride and care for their traditional architecture....More

In my opinion this is one of the many lovely old buildings in the Altstadt. If you want to see a lovely building stop and see this one.

An interesting building dating to the 17th century that has four small towers (or side towers I might say). It adds much to the ambience of the old quarter with its narrow streets.
