The Baroque onion towers of this church make it stand out from other churches in the town. Hints of Gothic influences add to the charm of the place, at least for me. It's not the most decorated church I've ever seen but has a lovely ceiling. Worth visiting and taking some time to explore inside.

In the centre of the old town this church has charm externally. Very plain internally but still worth a viewing.

Don't go here expecting to be blown away by artwork, it has some neat things, but not any signs (In German or otherwise) describing the artwork in here. There are pieces from the 15th to the 18th century. Bombed during WWII, the entire church renovation was completed in the 1970’s and 80’s. Remodeled after pictures and descriptions from the medieval era. A column-framed painting of St. Nicholas is here, from 1680. A wooden crucifix (mid-14th century), figures of the Virgin Mary and Josef (mid-18th century). There are also three grave plates of the powerful Burgtorn family buried here in the 1500’s.

High up in the old city centre this beautiful gothic church stands. Very nice to visit with beautiful pieces of art inside. For those interested in art and/or history this is not to be missed.

Nice structure with a pretty double tower facade in the middle of the aldstadt. The Nikolaus altar has been well preserved and merits a visit.

We were visiting in mid-October with skies that threatened rain. As tired as I was from morning tours, I wanted to get a look at this historic church. Evidence indicates that this site was a place of worship for the Romans in the 5th century. Construction began on this Roman Catholic Church in 1180 and ended in 1250, with additions in the 1400's. The Baroque onion towers were added in 1693. The Church of Our Lady was built on the highest point in the Old Town. The red and white colors make it stand out from a distance. Be sure to see the church from several sides. There is a statue of Christ on the cross along one outside wall.
In the courtyard is a fountain with statue known as Familienbrunnen (Family Well or Fountain); the statue shows a man, woman, four children and a dog. The statue is the work of German sculptor, Rudi Scheuermann (died in 2016 at the age of 86); his stone sculptures can be seen throughout Koblenz.

Beautiful Romanesque architecture highlighted with colour. The window behind the organ makes a pretty picture.
