A very detailed history of the Munster area from the ice age on, including models of the community from different centuries. There is a detailed treatment of the 1534-35 takeover of Munster by anabaptist zealots - including the iron tongs with which they were tortured...More

Well planned museum, very interesting to learn more about the history of the city. Not too big, and audio guide plus a short version in english helped to extract the most out of the visit

An excellent introduction to the history of the city. Not really set up for any language but German, but the rooms have a general orientation in multiple languages and the many models and displays are designed to inform without language.
