A sunday afternoon in the middle of november with this cold winter. I went to Duisburg Zoo to have a look mainly to see the daulphin show and to relax after a long week. Oh yeah indeed it was relaxing and really worth the time spare to go and have a look. Not disappointed but i went there at around... More

The Duisburg Zoo is easily accessible, and if you get there around 9AM opening time you can plan to be out by 1PM. The location is nice and green, well maintained but.. surrounded by busy/noisy motorways which doesn't add to the 'nature-loving' experience. Our personal highlights include: 1) the super-entertaining dolphin show (German language only!). First four-five rows offer a... More

The dolphin show cannot be missed. A must-see experience. Also, there are a number of other things to do, and lots of feeding shows.

We travelled to Duisburg Zoo using the excellent train system as we were staying in dusseldorf. €17 entry per adult, not a bad price. Good selection of animals, birds and fish. My favourite being the giant anteater. The exhibits are quite large and well adapted for the animals. You have to look really hard to find some of the animals,... More

This is a very interesting zoo and we spent some 4 or 5 hours there. That day was a holiday in NRW, so the zoo was extra crowded, we had to cue for 10-15 minutes, even though we were there early in the morning (it opens at 9 a.m.). Entrance fee is 16.90 €/adults and 9.90 €/kids over 3 yo.... More

We enjoyed our visit. It is a older zoo and some of the enclosures are a too small for the animals they have but in general worth a visit in you live in the area.

The zoo isnt very big, but its absolutely worth a visit. Im a huge Zoo fan, Ive visited several zoos in Europe. Duisburg have several animals which one wouldnt expect to see, They've got an albino Bennett's kangaroo for instance. I've also never seen a wolverine or a wombat untill I visited the zoo. There are plenty toilets and other... More

There are exhibits where you are up close and personal with the animals, providing curious and refreshing moments of "who is entertaining who?" At one point we were in a cage, and some of the animals outside looking at us in what appeared to be an amused fashion. Not cheap, so plan ahead and spend the day there as we... More
