I love films, so in Duesseldorf, I decided to visit this museum first. The museum has a lot of mini-film showings. They don't just feature German films, they also feature Japanese and other foreign films. What I really love about this museum is there's a section dedicated to Akira Kurosawa(one of my favorite directors). I guess the only thing lacking... More

I love film and movies and it was cold outside so we took a punt on this. The temporary exhibit (I think it's temporary?) about the shadow puppets at the birth of cinema in the 1920s was fascinating and I loved watching the old films, and there was a bit you could make your own shadow puppet film which was... I do love film and the history of cinematography. I found the collections to be interesting but rather neglected. There is a lot of things to see, but it felt that there wasn't much of a connection between them, just a lot of stuff thrown together. It feels that this is due to lack of funding and I am sure... One thing I have to tell you right away - make sure you have at least 3 hours to spend absorbing each item in the exhibition. In the world where Hollywood shadows other countries cinema, it was really cool to dive into the German's one. But overall it does cover cinema as a medium in general, with bits of information... This was pretty amazing and cheap at €7 per adult- lots to see here but disappointed that you're not allowed to take pictures Anyone who's a film buff should visit especially as it tell the story of how film began Great visit on a cold autumn day

Nice friendly staff that made the museum user friendly though I don't speak German. There was enough English text and visuals that allowed the museum to be interesting.

Came across this place just wondering about and thought it could fill a hour or 2 so went in. Found the 10euro fee quite high. On entering the 1st floor you go on is full of text and none in English ... So was off to a bad start. Understand we are in Germany but could tell you reception it's... More
