Wir climbed the stairs up to the restaurant and enjoyed the view - we did not have to pay any entrance fee which was certainly appreciated. Managing those interactive games was very challenging and required some skills - the museum is not state of the art but still worthwhile to visit (mainly in German) …

This is a small museum and is difficult to miss if you are walking around near Rhine. It provides a good photo opporunity in the evening when there is a crowd and sun sets against the river bank.

Wouldn't go out of the way to seek this out, but there is enough nearby to warrant including it in your sightseeing... Nice area.

Overall this is a nice little museum with a couple of interactive areas within the exhibits. Requires an hour or so (no longer) to cover all the floors in detail which is good value for the €3 entry fee.

Didn’t blow my socks off but certainly worth a visit for sure.

Lovely welcome from enthusiastic staff. Great views from the top - no need to eat at the cafe to enjoy them. Displays for all ages and most levels accessible by the lift. Visited twice as so good.

Standing 5 floors high and at a height of 38 metres is the wonderful Schlossturm .
With parts of the tower dating back to the 13th century, this was once part of Dusseldorf Castle ,now housing a maritime museum and a cafe it is without a shadow of a doubt one of the landmark features of the Burgplatz and Rhien Promenade, it's very photogenic and makes for some great photographic opportunities, my twin brother Stephen and I were here over the Christmas period and along with the Wheel Of Vision was the centrepiece of the magical Christmas Market held annually on Burgplatz .
Well worth checking out if your in the area.

The 'Schlossturm' stands at Burgplatz in Düsseldorf and is used as a maritime museum.
The tower originally formed the northern end of the Dusseldorf castle. The first three floors of the tower date back to the 13th century.
A fourth an fifth floor, as well als the current tent roof, to give the tower its current heigt of 38 m, where added between the 16th and 20th century.
Since 1984 the maritime museum is located in the tower. In 2001, the tower received a new interior design.
If you like to visit the museum, you can walk down to level -2 and take the elevator to the top.
On the top floor, a café-restaurant is located, from where you also have a nice vieuw over the Rhine and the old town of Düsseldorf.

Very popular place near to the river. You can find the best spot for making fotos and chill out at the stairs. There are few bars very close to the river so check it out.
