The Kunsthalle is a great exhibition hall if you've an interest in the arts ,unfortunately I haven't but I must say I was impressed with the Caryatid Statue's outside and the Habakuk Monument again outside, very fascinating works of art indeed, if you're planning a holiday to Dusseldorf its most definitely well worth checking out and easy to locate along Grabbestraße.

Nice museum, we just went 28-10 to see the 'sammlung on the first and seconf floor. Reflecting the period and art movements 1900-2010.

The low appreciation though is merely reflecting the rude, treatment of more than one guard.
1. One female guard told us in one word we should take the route she wanted us to take.
2. In one word again the same guard told us a little while later to keep distance of the paintings of which we already kept distance a minimum of half a meter.
3. Later on another guard told os bluntly to keep distance as we were standing close to read the explanation of a painting: due to the little letters in combination wtih a bad eysight - even with extra glasses on - it was hard to read what was written.
Due to the idiotic actions of some protestors in different musea we understand that musea and guards are extra apprehensive of new attacts.
Beforehand we placed our bags and coats in the lockers, Apart from showing our admission ticket, we were not checked while going urther into the museum.
The way some guards just acted that morning - 10.15 hour, not another visitor jet on the floors, we didn't feel welcome at all.

The collection of paintings from the early twentieth century is very interesting and rich (for Dusseldorf). Temporary exhibitions are often unremarkable and boil down to a complete lack of understanding of art.One gets the impression that the artists are trying to copy Duchamp without knowing who Duchamp is.

Modern exhibitions and friendly staff. Free entry for Dusseldorf card holders, a bonus.
A great space for expressionistic art.

If modern and post-modern art is your thing, this is the place to be in Düsseldorf! Friendly service even for customers with really bad German, and the space itself is nice. The pieces were hung professionally, and the exhibitions were awesome.

We went to this museum on a rainy day in Dusseldorf and really enjoyed it. The museum has an extraordinary collection of Expressionist art. If you don't care for modern art, you won't enjoy it, in my opinion. I've never seen as many paintings of Paul Klee before! Beautiful building. I don't suggest bringing children here unless they know something about twentieth century art.

A gem! the K20 gallery has an impressive collection of twentieth century abstract paintings. A variety of Paul Klee’s masterpieces, Picasso, Magritte, Miro, a couple of Dali’s, max ernst, some great Of Bacon’s, Mondrian, Braque, Delaunay, Marc, and it goes on and on, leger, Rothko, you name it. My own favourite De Chirico and Kandinsky. In a great light building with lots of space and finesse. Spend an hour or two looking at the paintings and you will
View Düsseldorf from a different angle. Lots of food for thought. Great temporary exhibitions too, like the one by Carmen Herrera

We went here to see the Zurbaran exhibition which was stunning. We found the whole gallery very relaxing and delightful to walk around. The refreshment area was very well done and we had a lovely break there. It is all set in delightful gardens and you could be occupied there for hours if you so wished.
